A trip to the California wine country is not complete without a stop at many of the area houses of cuisine. A great thing about Yountville is that it is a walking town where you are within a stone’s throw of some of the top restaurants in the world including The French Laundry. We had an amazing family style dinner at Ad Hoc, one of Thomas Keller’s restaurants. One thing is for sure, you will not go away hungry or thirsty in this town. Ad Hoc’s food choices change daily via a prix fixe 4-course set of family style offerings. Hopefully, their buttermilk fried chicken will show up on the menu if you check it out. From famous chefs to delicious tastes right from the farm, Napa Valley will not disappoint.
Of course, there are also the vast selections of Napa wineries to enjoy! My husband calls this amazing area “Disney Land for adults.” From basic tastings, walking through caves, talking to winemakers and taking in gorgeous vistas as you sip on your favorites – Napa invites you to a journey like no other. My favorite winery from this trip was Porter Family Vineyards located in the southeastern hills just above Coombsville. Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah are what mostly populates their vines and their wines have a beautiful taste – if I do say so myself.
So, to my fellow Mezza followers – cheers to you! Time to smell, swish, and sip.
